In a day and age where magic and witchery has become culturally accepted, and even glorified, I’ve been noticing a surge of manifestation jargon that has people putting a bunch of unnecessary pressure on themselves. I get people asking “Why isn’t my life perfect? I thought I was aligned??” or “Bad shit keeps happening to me, I must have an energy block!”
But here’s the deal with that: all of this talk is basically self shame with a glittery filter and the universe as a scape goat. And I know that isn’t fun to hear from me, because we like to talk about magic over here, but the core of what I try to instill in women is that life is shitty sometimes, and it will throw you curve balls. What I coach women to achieve is the ability to handle it all in stride.
Yes, it is true that the universe gives out the energy it receives, so when you are in a positive alignment your life will become more abundant. But let me break that down for those of you who don’t understand those terms. Alignment refers to your chakras, or energy centers, and describes free flowing positive energy among the seven points along your body. However, it is a term thats thrown around and misused because it is kind of shaming. It doesn’t really allow for the human emotions that we feel throughout our lives. No, not everyday is going to be a spiritual day. No, not every day we are going to be happy and whistling down the street. And that is OK. That is just part of the human experience.
And abundance will come to you when you have your shit together. It definitely does. But this is also a chicken before the egg situation. When things are going good, you feel good, and the cycle continues.
So, the point I’m trying to make here is, when things aren’t going your way, or even when we experience something life altering like the Tower, we need not BLAME our alignment or the universe. We need to ask ourselves what lesson is needing to be learned. Focusing on “alignment” is such a nuanced and misdirected use of our energy. If we focus on the lesson, we become aligned.
What we’re trying to achieve here is the wholeness of the World. But, much like the Major Arcana, we must travel through the journey to get there. We must live as the Fool, go forward, die, be reborn, and seek out our mysteries and lessons. And then, my friends, we do it all over again, and again, and again.
So, the moral of the story is, don’t get down on yourself or obsess over alignment. Noticing patterns will ultimately help you get to that aligned state. Look at the details and the lesson, and the universe will reward you greatly. Take off the pressure, and stay witchy ( *)
