Welcome to the first 2017 installment of Witchcrafts! Today I am going to teach you how to make Moon Water, which you can start making on February 10, the second full moon of the year!
Moon Water is very easy to make and has many spiritual and magical qualities. It can be used in rituals, to drink, or in accompaniment with a bath to enhance relaxation. I’ve also made Moon Water vessel necklaces that I added to my Etsy shop!
I made my batch of Moon Water during the Super Moon in November, and still haven’t run out yet.
First, I suggest getting a large glass vessel, something that the full moon light can seep through. Then fill the vessel with purified water, and if you feel so inclined, you can charge it with an intention or purify it further with sage. Whatever you feel best cleanses and adds importance to your Moon Water should be done prior to the full moon.
Once you’ve completed your cleansing, place the vessel in a spot where it can receive the most light from the full moon. I put mine on the roof of my complex. Let it sit there over night.
Bring the vessel back in come morning, and voila! Moon Water!
As a ritualistic practice and a beautiful metaphor for clean energy, I love the meaning of Moon Water and have therefore created a pendant with an amethyst (for clarity) floating inside. Look for it on my Product Page!
Welcome to the December installment of WitchCrafts! Because I am abroad, this tutorial is super easy, but that is also good news for you!
On my birthday in October, I made a bunch of drinks for my guests, including a super sparkly witches brew featuring the liqueur Viniq.
I wasn’t too impressed with the sweetness of the liqueur, so I went online to try to figure out how to make my own sparkly version for Christmas and New Years.
Well, it turns out you can buy pearl luster dust on Amazon and just use it in anything you want.
It’s literally so easy and you feel like a fairy princess.
So since a Christmas tradition of ours is to drink mimosas while we open presents, we got up somewhat early to go and find Prosecco and orange juice. Well, not realizing that this is Rome and Christmas is an incredibly important holiday, we came to find that every shop was closed. Seriously. Every single one.
Walking back to our Air BnB feeling a little disappointed, my sister had us turn down a small street that took us the easiest route back.
Well lo and behold, the only shop in miles that was open was on this block, and we were able to get Frizzante and a grapefruit to make makeshift- almost-mimosas to drink while we opened our presents! Then we dumped some luster dust in these bad bitches and let the festive feeling commence.
The most important part of this morning was being together and keeping a tradition alive. And we got a little Christmas miracle to help make this happen.
Welcome to your November installment of WitchCrafts! Because I believe so much in harnessing your creative energy to get you out of a rut, I’ve decided to run this segment monthly to get you to shake up your routine.
This segment comes to you with a free print out in the product page. I have spoken before about making lists and I feel that if you suffer from anxiety, like me, you can free up your headspace by just jotting down things to do throughout your week. Taking things one day at a time can seem overwhelming when your schedule has you bogged down, but using resources like a planner or a notebook can really help to release the tension once you’ve physically written down your tasks.
I have created these printouts by month but only containing a week, so you can print out four at a time to complete the set. At the bottom I’ve listed what crystal energy the birthstone corresponding to the month harnesses, and a space to write down a personal mantra.
I personally like to doodle all over my planners. It helps me to meditate a bit. If you have adult coloring books, you know what I mean by this.
My example has a lot of detail, but feel free to make it your own. It is important that this reflects your comfort level. These were made to help ease the burden of the upcoming week.
So get out your colored pencils and get cracking! It is pretty amazing how easy it is to alleviate stress by just writing things down. Stay witchy, friends ( *)
Hello hello witchy readers!! Because I believe so much in getting creative and using that part of your tool belt to get you out of rut, I’ve decided to do a monthly WitchCrafts segment! The Ace of Cups runneth over with creativity, and so will your heart when you get cracking on these projects!!
In honor of Halloween and the opportunity to host a kick ass party (as I am doing for my birthday) I decided to make some Witchy Wine Charms! They are really easy to make and you can do it while watching a scary movie and sipping a cocktail, exactly as I did.
I buy all of my materials on eBay, so it’s extremely affordable to make these guys. You can also just input exactly what is on the list into the search bar and they should come right up.
Alright, all you need for these wine charms:
memory wire (ring size)
small beads (I used small amethysts)
small pendants (I used sterling skull charms so I had to fasten jump rings)
craft pliers (I used flat nose, they worked better with the strength of the memory wire)
So first step is to get all of your supplies together. I like to do a bulk of one step at a time to produce more faster, but you can make your charms individually too. I suggest, if you bought charms instead of pendants (the circle on top is facing with the hole on the front instead of the side) to put your jump rings on these guys first so the charm lays correctly.
Then were going to go through and cut each memory wire ring. You want about a quarter inch on each side (so half inch in total that crosses.)
After you have your individual ring, bend back the loose portion on one side to create kind of a loop. It doesn’t have to be perfect but its necessary for the beads to stay on.
Then thread your bead, then charm, then other bead onto the memory wire.
Then bend back that last loose side to complete the charm!
Fasten the two loops around the glass and you’re ready to party without losing your drink.
Hope this was as fun for you as it was for me! Party smart and stay witchy ( *)
