Happy Yule! Time for Introspection

IMG_1964

Baby it’s cold outside and we’re upon the shortest day of the year, known as the Winter Solstice, or by Pagans as Yule. This day marks the point in the year where, from here on out, the days begin to grow and the Sun makes it’s return. The underlying themes of this glorious Pagan holiday are gratitude, introspection, and planning, and that is exactly what we’ll be reflecting on today.

For this exercise, take three pieces of paper out. On the first, list everything you are grateful for from the past year. Then, on the second, take a personal inventory of how much you’ve grown from the beginning of 2017. Write out a timeline and see if you can mark off your personal growth through the months.

Next, as I explained in my email blast, this is where it get’s interesting.

From your growth’s trajectory, I want you to see if you can derive some values from the direction you’ve been heading. Have you been paying more attention to self care? Have you acted more courageously? Have you only kept those that are loyal close to you?

These characteristics are the things that you hold close, and should serve as your guidepost to intentionally move into 2018.

So from here, flip that paper over and write out your goals for 2018, but try to align them with the values you’ve carved out for yourself.

This is just a taste of the kind of work we’ll be doing in my new group program, starting January 2018, Resolve to Revolutionize.  Check it out so you can start your year right, and stay witchy ( *)

How this New Moon Symbolizes the Final Push Towards an Abundant 2018

IMG_5323So today we have a New Moon in Sagittarius, who’s energy is fiery, passionate, and willing to make our goals our destiny. This is the final push to see how much transformation we’ve made and what we still need to do to have a successful New Year.

But lately it’s gotten me thinking about how far I’ve come, myself, in just a few short years.

It wasn’t too long ago that I would set goals just to have them crumble beneath me in a few weeks. It seemed impossible because there were so many “outside forces” that seemed to be standing in my way. One thing or another would dramatically change the course of events, and I just felt as thought I couldn’t win.

But once I hit the proverbial rock bottom, I came to my senses and reached out for some much needed help. I sought out guidance that directed me to real change, and it seemed as though outside forces didn’t have the same effect. Sure, life still happens, but the real force that kept obstructing my journey was ME. And seeking out help got me out of my own way.

As the Star appeared, and hope was renewed, I started to see a shift in my overall abundance. Because I worked with my shadow, acted with gratitude, defined my values and put true intention behind every action, my goals weren’t difficult to attain anymore. In fact, just setting them was enough for them to manifest.

I know what it’s like to be frustrated and discouraged. I still have those days. But the difference is that I know how to honor the feelings and switch them to a vibe so high that abundance can’t help but find me. And I can teach you how to do exactly the same.

I’ve created a group program to start off the New Year right, which is held in a private Facebook community for 8 full weeks. I have educational videos, private coaching calls, guest speakers, assignments and rituals that are specifically designed to get you out of your own way and into a revolutionized way of thinking. I made this group program for ME a few years ago.

So act as the Knight of Swords and move forward with action. Don’t wait, because you can only receive this insane package at the early bird price for two more days. Get on this no, because you won’t regret it. Find the link here, and stay witchy ( *)

Ways to Honor Your Body, Mind, and Soul in the Winter Months

For many of us, it’s hard to slow down when it gets cold. But going against nature and what our body needs causes us unnecessary stress (and sometimes even depression.) Use any of these quick tips to honor hibernation season and preserve your strength to kick ass for the long run, instead of burning out entirely.

  • Know what your body is asking for: Listen, I totally understand that you’ve made a pact with yourself to get up at 5am and work out, but what do you do when you know you’re getting sick? Do you push through it anyways, only to find that you’re sicker for longer after that CrossFit class? Sometimes staying in bed isn’t worth feeling guilty over, and will preserve your health for longer lasting results.
  • Obligations don’t exist: Holiday parties are fun, sure, but they can fill your social calendar to the point of literal anxiety. You’re allowed to say no, and to stay home in your pjs while you warm by the fire. I’m not saying to completely be the Hermit, but also know when to say “no.”
  • If you have to, schedule downtime: Now this might be the type A in me talking, but if it isn’t in my planner, I simply won’t do it. If your schedule is jam packed to that point, I suggest scheduling in a movie at home so you KNOW you have to sit down and relax. Write in “bubble bath” at 8pm and don’t bring your phone. Anything to honor the resting period.
  • Remember gratitude: If you’re so busy with Christmas shopping, holiday parties, work events, etc. that it makes you want to scream, remember to be grateful that you have things going on. You could be one of the humans out there on the street in the snow, and even though it may seem like they’re not doing much, they certainly aren’t relaxing. Be grateful for your busy schedule, and make time for yourself because you have the freedom to do it.

All in all, just remember you’re shooting for longevity, and pushing against your body will not serve you. Mind the seasons, honor rest, and stay witchy ( *)

As The Seasons Change

IMG_5260A big part of being a witch is being receptive to nature, and this past year I have been more aware of the seasons than ever. Growing up in LA, you don’t really have a sense of the seasons because the weather is always great, and I honestly think that was adding to this empty feeling that I had there.

I wasn’t getting the reminders that I so painfully needed.

Two days ago marked the first snowfall here in NYC, and I remembered to go really gentle on myself and use the cue from the weather to slow down and reconnect with my values. Usually during these next three months I have to fight seasonal depression, but this year feels completely different. It feels like honoring myself with a slow pace is exactly what I need.

As with the Hermit, I will be spending more days inside, more days resting, and more days reflecting. With warm sweaters, tea, and love in my heart, I will be remembering what our ancestors would do during the winter solstice. I will honor my animal side and take more naps during hibernation season. I will rest and reflect so that I can blossom in the spring.

The Wheel of Fortune reminds us that things move in cycles, and as with any natural progression, there is a point of stillness. Taking things easy feels right and natural. It is time to recharge our bodies!

And this doesn’t mean I will stop working, or even stop playing. But it does mean my level of consciousness surrounding my body’s adaptability and needs will be heightened. It means there will be no shame in rest.

So remember to listen to your aches and pains. Your sniffles and breath. Because slowing down now will give you longevity later. Stay aware and stay witchy ( *)

ThursdayThinks: Ways to Exercise Boundaries in Business

IMG_5124

Want some tips on how to keep your personal flavor, while maintaining a business savvy?? It’s difficult to be an empath as an entrepreneur, but check out these tips to stay on top of the game!

  • Know your worth and align it in every practice: What do you think you’re ACTUALLY worth? Think about what your practice/ business affords the world, and lead with confidence around it.
  • Know when to cut the dialogue short: If you’re in the middle of being taken advantage of, in whatever the case, get yourself an exit strategy. Know how to identify when people are asking for too much (i.e. to a point of making you uncomfortable) and remember that you are allowed to not participate.
  • Set some ground rules, and don’t break ’em: It’s important to have a policy in place for your business, because when you come from an empathetic place (like I do) you want to do favors for everyone. Policies help set the standard.
  • Consistency is key: Remember when I said “don’t break ’em”? I mean it. To convey consistent policies is the only way to command respect, in your personal life AND your business.
  • Communicate effectively: Let your customers or clients know your policies in a firm manner! This can be hard for empaths, because we are sensitive ourselves, but firm (not rude!) communication is the real winner here.

Practicing these tips is not only going to help you run your business effectively, but it will amp up your energetic flow! This kind of confidence around the worth of your business will bring respectful customers and ideal clients to your doorstep! Practice carefully and stay witchy ( *)

Boundaries in Business

IMG_5186It’s one thing to invest in yourself, change your life for the better, and heal with intention. I was on that journey a few years ago and am so happy I made the decision to do so.

However, it’s an entirely different story to make this path into your business.

I’ve worked with quite a few women who signed up with me in a heartbeat and started transforming their lives in the exact same way that I did. But, what I’ve been seeing a lot of lately is the hemming and hawing of people who aren’t ready to make the leap. The questions of price and discounts and freebies. Interested parties that know they need the help but just don’t want to invest.

And, as an empath, I used to cater to these people early in my business. In fact, I have up until very recently. I used to (and still do, to some degree) understand the inability to pay for coaching or even an ebook. I remembered the excuses I used to make to get in the way of my own development, so I would I try to help people that are in the same static place that I was three years ago. But I’ve learned now that there needs to be a boundary in place to protect my light and give it to those that see the value in my work.

You see, the difference between my clients now (and me three years ago) and the girls looking for handouts, is that we knew what we needed to do to get out of our deep, dark rut, and we went for it. It wasn’t a question of price or package. It was a question of life or death.

And much like Death, we knew we had to invest a piece of ourselves for transformational change. It didn’t matter, because the value was priceless. Recently I’ve just had my own death and rebirth, in which I realized more firm boundaries need to be kept in place.

The Emperor comes to mind as I enact a more masculine flow of energy to the business side of my coaching practice. Yes, the nurturing, feminine ability I have as an empath is a beautiful gift, but when not balanced with masculine boundaries, you fall prey to those who want to take advantage of you.

So if this sounds familiar, and you, like me, are lacking clients because of your own empathy, it’s time to wake up and stand up for yourself and your business. And if you are a person who needs help but only wants it for free, realize that you’re only going to receive back what you put in, and there isn’t much reward from nothing. Invest in yourself, and stay witchy ( *)
